Marymount College Volunteers

All parents are asked to contribute to the College in some way. Without volunteers, we would not be able to provide so much for our students. We are very grateful for the support of families either as volunteers or by financially supporting our fundraising efforts.

Musical

The College produces a musical every second year, which students perform at the Gold Coast Arts Centre over two nights. Students from all year levels are invited to participate. Previous musicals have included, Legally Blonde - the musical, Rock of Ages, The Wedding Singer, Anything Goes, Grease, Footloose, and A Class Act.

In addition to transporting students to practices, rehearsals and performances, there are sets to be made and costumes to be sewn, and make-up and hair to be done. Students will have the time of their lives and parents will have the opportunity to be part of this experience with them. To register your interest in the 2023 Musical email Musical Director Mrs Melanie Howe

P&F Committee

The College Parents and Friends provide support and guidance to the Principal throughout the year. The association also provides a forum for raising issues and concerns, allows for parents to examine these matters, and for the Principal to be aware of, and give consideration to, the thinking of the parent community. The monthly meetings also provide oversight of the administration and use of the College P&F levy of $40 per term. More information about P&F.

Other Ways to Volunteer

In addition to the opportunities mentioned above, there other ways to become involved in the College depending on your individual skills. If you have skills in a particular area and would like to share with our students, email info@marymount.qld.edu.au. And we will pass on your details to an Academic Coordinator. Examples of this might be; professional artist, dancer, chef, singer or musician, sportsperson, or tradesman.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering at the College benefits the entire school and community, it also is a way to show your child you support the school and want them to make the most of their opportunities. Many parents who volunteer enjoy the chance to socialise with other parents and to build friendships based on common interests. It also provides students with positive role models, support, and encouragement. Additionally, it will allow you to observe the rhythm of school life and to share understandings with your child.

Your volunteering will make a difference.
